After that, we maintain close communication with everyone involved in the project, answering questions and guiding design decisions to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience from start to finish. CONSTRUCTION

This package is designed for anyone who is embarking on a renovation or remodel project. We thoughtfully create floor plans, elevation drawings, and 3D renderings for your project and curate the perfect finishes. If needed, furnishings can be added to your package or we can focus solely on the design and finishes for your home.

Once the project is underway, we work closely with contractors and trades during construction to ensure finish selections arrive when they are needed and that implementation of the design is smooth and efficient. We focus on the design details so you can focus on enjoying the transformation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect at the consultation?

Our Full Service Design consultation is a 60-minute consultation that provides an excellent opportunity to see your space, meet everyone who will be involved in the project, and narrow down the scope of work.

We begin the consultation by discussing your project and allowing you time to share the problems and challenges you experience with your home. We then identify what should be considered in the design, brainstorming ideas and identifying your must have's. Lastly, we create a scope of work for the project and make sure we have a clear understanding of expected timelines, budget and project goals.

After the consultation, we provide you with an estimate for our design services and a detailed scope of work. Once approved, we will send you our agreement and invoice to begin your project.

Can I purchase my own products?

Unfortunately, no. As an interior designer, the core of my business is building and maintaining my vendor relationships so that I can give my clients the VIP service they are hiring me for.

It is both a benefit to you and our business to manage the ordering and delivery of your products for a Full Service Design. We can resolve issues on your behalf and get detailed information about products that can be difficult and sometimes impossible to acquire from 3rd party vendors.

If you have a strong desire to purchase products yourself, then our Consultation would be a better fit for you.

Is there a minimum budget for Full Service Design?

How do you present your ideas for the design?

We present our ideas through samples, floor plans, images, illustrations, and product boards. Also, depending on what we are helping you with, we may schedule a store visit to view items in person.

For our Full Service Design, we provide two presentations during the creative design process.

Our first presentation is our Project Direction Meeting. This is scheduled two weeks after our agreement is signed and the first invoice is paid. At this meeting, we have you weigh in on initial design concepts, ask clarifying questions, and define what you like and don't like before making final decisions.

We will then schedule our Design Presentation Meeting six weeks later where we present the final design, highlighting everything we chose and why with samples, drawings and floor plans for your approval.

Once the design is approved, we will order and track the shipment and delivery of your products, keeping you informed with weekly updates. During this time, we work with your contractor, if renovation is included, to provide them with details to ensure a successful completion of your project.

How do you communicate throughout the project?

We handle most of our communication by email and phone.

Throughout the project, you will receive updates every Monday on what was completed the previous week and what is on the schedule for the upcoming week.

We reach out to you by phone when things require immediate attention or we need to relay important information that is better communicated by phone.

We respond to emails twice a day during business hours, ensuring a regular and consistent communication process.

You are also welcome to contact us during office hours, Monday through Friday, 9 am-5 pm. If you reach our voicemail, we will return your call as soon as possible.

Do you welcome client involvement?

Your input is a crucial component to the success of your project that is why all of our services have specific benchmarks where we gather information from you to ensure we align with your preferences.

Before the Discovery Call we ask you to send us photos of your space. This helps us better understand your goals and what you would like to do. Based on our discussion, we will ask you to send us inspiration photos and we might gather more details about your preferences to help us prepare more effectively for your consultation.

The consultation is a highly collaborative time of exchanging ideas and narrowing down the direction of your project.

The Project Direction Meeting for our Mid Level and Full Service clients allows us to get to a deeper level of understanding your preferences so we can create a design that is perfectly aligned with you.

The last opportunity is our Design Presentation Meeting. This meeting allows you to make any final changes before moving forward with Project Fulfillment.

We are so thrilled with our kitchen remodel thanks to Joy Edwards Design. As newcomers to remodeling Joy showed her creativity in helping us establish our style. Joy’s suggestions for a multi-use coffee/drink bar, a large pantry, and turning the island around to maximize space and storage were appreciated and built into the plans.

The multi use bar replaced the original placement of the refrigerator which allowed the water line to be used in the coffee machine. The addition of the beverage cooler allows easy access for drinks and snacks. The inclusion of the pantry was so appreciated, as we didn’t think we would have the space for it. Joy solved the layout problem and the result is a large walk in pantry that looks like it has always been there.

Once our design and layout was finalized, Joy walked us through the timeline process, meeting with the contractor, cabinetmakers, and walking us through ordering the appliances. This level of detail by Joy was beyond valuable to us.
